Advantages of this set
For who?
- Designed entirely with the modern game and performance in mind, the OBUT RCC (Rebond Contrôlé Carbone, carbon controlled bounce) petanque boule, the second boule in the latest generation of high-end Obut competitions boules, is a concentrate of the latest metallurgical technologies. They have enabled Obut to use a new carbon steel and a new manufacturing concept specific to the petanque boule.
- This competition set will be the optimum solution for seasoned shooters looking for a set with a very weak bounceback on a direct lobbed hit.
- With its exceptional impact absorption, this set will also be the perfect answer for experienced pointers who enjoy playing close to the jack (high lobs).
- Player profile : Pointer/ All-rounder/Shooter :
- Pointer : high lob.
- Shooter : fifty in front & on iron.
For what surface and what type of game?
- This set of petanque boules approved by the FIPJP is particularly suited to use on pebbly and tarred ground (hard and difficult).
- A boule with incomparable impact absorption, especially on very hard ground, making it perfect for high lobs, while its minimal bounceback will be appreciated on direct lobbed stun shots. A new alloy carbon steel and a new state-of-the-art treatment process give the RCC three additional qualities which have won the unanimous approval of petanque champions :
- "it lands and rolls well when shooting to the front"
- "it's still pleasant to touch"
- "it keeps its "anti-bounce" capacity even after intense use"
- The effect is surprising at the beginning, but after a little time to get used to it, this boule facilitates an attacking game on difficult terrain (high lobs and lobbed stun shots) for good petanque players.

Maintenance
Finish
- When first purchased, the OBUT RCC petanque boule has a black coating.
- As requested by good players, the "black" wears off very quickly during the first few games.
Care of your boules
- Due to the technology used in the manufacturing process, the RCC oxidises very quickly, which is actually much appreciated by a certain category of players, who like to feel they have a good hand grip.
- It may therefore require a little care and attention after each game and at least once a month if it is not used.
- We recommend using the Obut boule care product.
A tip from Obut
Don't leave your boules in your car boot, as they may be exposed to sudden changes in temperature, leading to condensation.
Don't keep boules in pouches with a foam compartment. Foam stays permanently slightly damp and that will accentuate the oxidation of the boules.
Such significantly damp conditions will be harmful to your boules in the long run, as they can cause oxidation.
Remember to take your boules out of the boot of your car or their pouch if it has a foam compartment and store them in a dry place.
