Advantages of this set
For who?
- Entirely designed for modern play and performance, the OBUT RCC (Rebond Contrôlé Carbone) petanque boule, the second in the latest generation of top-of-the-range Obut competition boules, is a concentrate of the very latest metallurgical technologies. These have enabled Obut to use a new carbon steel and adapt a new manufacturing concept specifically for petanque boules.
- This competition set will be ideal for experienced shooters looking for a triplette with very low recoil on a full-iron shot.
- This triplette will be perfect for experienced pointers who like to play as close to the goal as possible (leaded/high range) thanks to its exceptional cushioning capacity.
- Player profile: Pointer/Midfielder/Shooter :
- Pointer: high range.
- Shooter: front at 50 cm & iron.
For what surface and what type of game?
- This F.I.P.J.P.-approved petanque boules set is particularly suited to stony to tarmac ground (hard and difficult).
- A boule with an incomparable cushioning capacity, particularly on very hard ground, during a lead point and with minimal recoil during a full iron shot, its new carbon alloy steel and its new highly specialised treatment process give the RCC three additional qualities that are unanimously appreciated by petanque champions:
- "it picks up well when fired from the front
- "it remains pleasant to the touch
- "it retains its “anti-kickback” properties for a long time after intensive use.
- Surprising at first, after a little time of adaptation, this boule enhances the attacking game on difficult terrain (high range and full iron shot) of good pétanque players.

Maintenance
Finish
- The Obut RCC pétanque boule has a black coating when it is supplied to the consumer.
- In response to demand from good players, the black coating fades very quickly after the first few games.
Maintenance
- Because of the technology used in its manufacturing process, the RCC is subject to rapid oxidation, which is much appreciated by a category of players looking for a grippy feel in the hand.
- It may therefore require maintenance after each game and at least once a month if not in use.
- We recommend the Obut maintenance product.
A little Obut advice
Do not leave your boules sets in the boot of your car, as they are exposed to sudden changes in temperature, which can lead to condensation.
Do not store your boules sets in bags with a foam compartment. The permanent humidity of the foam increases the oxidation of the boules.
These high humidity conditions will, in the long run, be detrimental to your boules by encouraging their oxidation.
Remember to take your balls out of the boot of your car or a bag with a foam compartment to store them in a dry place.
