Maintenance
Finish
- When first purchased, the Obut CX COU 0-grade striated petanque boule has a black coating.
- As requested by good players, the "black" wears off very quickly during the first few games. If the boule is not used for a while, a fine layer of oxidation may appear on the surface, which suits petanque players who like to feel they have a good hand grip just fine!
Care of your boules
- The Obut CX COU carbon steel petanque boule requires a little care and attention after each game and at least once a month if it is not used.
- We recommend using the Obut boule care product.
A tip from Obut
Don't leave your boules in your car boot, as they may be exposed to sudden changes in temperature, leading to condensation.
Don't keep boules in pouches with a foam compartment. Foam stays permanently slightly damp and that will accentuate the oxidation of the boules.
Such significantly damp conditions will be harmful to your boules in the long run, as they can cause oxidation.
Remember to take your boules out of the boot of your car or their pouch if it has a foam compartment and store them in a dry place.
